Liam Curran (one of Labour's candidates in Sydenham) who successfully led the campaign to save the landmark Greyhound pub in Sydenham, and former landlady Pauline Morrison, Labour candidate in Crofton Park Ward, are launching the campaign, alongside the current licensee Ian Moore of The General Napier pub in Bovill Road SE23.
Pauline Morrison, who used to run The General Napier pub said: 'As the former landlady of the General Napier I know the hard work involved in running a pub and I want to do everything I can to make sure they remain at the heart of our communities in Lewisham.'
Liam Curran said: 'The Labour Party has pledged nationally, and we are pledging locally, to make it easier to retain pubs and help them prosper through support with planning, licensing and contracts with pub companies.'
